Mr. Speaker, Claims · 50 words as a new member here, I came to realize very quickly that committees are the workhorse for Parliament. Off point I fear that the government is using majority to shut down debate on controversial legislation, something where Canadians might lose their voice. As well, committees are a place for transparency and accountability. Off point Reasoning · 22 words I am just wondering if speed is now more important than scrutiny when writing the law for this country and for Canadians.

What the tags mean → “as a new member here, I came to realize very quickly that committees are the workhorse for Parliament.” This is a general remark about committees’ role in Parliament, not about the motion to continue debate.
Off point Talking about something other than the matter at hand: the question asked, or the bill, motion or speech under debate. What the tags mean → “As well, committees are a place for transparency and accountability.” This is a comment on committees as a venue for transparency, not on the motion’s purpose or effects.
Respect · no score
Not checked: graded before this measurement existed. Excluded from the average.
