Founded in 1926, Arvida is considered an outstanding example of urban planning.¹ It is known for its innovative architecture and the remarkable diversity of its working-class neighbourhoods, which are unique in the history of industrial towns. Arvida has played a pivotal role in Quebec’s development by making a major contribution to aluminum production.
