Replying to Steeve Lavoie (Liberal)
“Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for his speech. He said that no projects have gotten under way since the government came to power. In my region alone, however, Davie Canada started construction on the Polar Max icebreaker last spring. I was there when the first bolt was fastened. An $11-billion contract for six icebreakers was also just announced. In my riding, a container ship project was just announced as well. Meetings have already been held. I would like to know where this information that there have been no projects comes from. Would my colleague like to rephrase his response a little, based on Bill C‑39 and the projects ahead?”
