“Mr. Speaker, let me just say at the outset that, having lived and worked in Alberta for 10 years in my private sector career prior to this place and my wife being born and raised in southern Alberta, all Conservatives certainly support a strong Alberta within a united Canada, and I thank the member for her comments. We on this side of the House stood and supported Bill C-5. I am on the transport and infrastructure committee. We supported the passage of that bill in an expeditious fashion. However, there have been 500 projects brought forward to the Major Projects Office, and very few have inched along. In fact, there are none where we see any shovels in the ground. I would ask the minister to give an exact date when we will we see a project from the Major Projects Office with a shovel in the ground.”
