Replying to Jeremy Patzer (Conservative)
“Madam Speaker, I really appreciated my colleague’s speech. One thing we both do is represent Saskatchewan and people who live in rural areas. A lot of people from rural communities drive into the city of Regina, and they support the rural economy that exists in Saskatchewan. Could the member explain to the Liberal government, and particularly the member for Winnipeg North, how important it is to pass this motion to support the rural economy in Saskatchewan?”

Madam Speaker, Claims · 101 wordsI just got off the phone with a friend of mine who lives in Regina—Lewvan and has a farm. We talked about fuel costs. He said that he paid $10 an acre for fuel costs last year, and this year he is paying $20 an acre for fuel costs. His fuel bill on his farm this year is going to be $400,000.1 I would love for a Liberal to try to explain to me how the price of fuel, when it is being doubled for our farmers across the country, does not affect the price of food at the grocery store.
