Replying to Dave Epp (Conservative)
“Madam Speaker, I have appreciated serving with the member at times on FOPO, the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans. I usually come from a freshwater perspective, and he is often a little saltier, I think from his surrounding water. He mentioned in his speech the port overhauls and the St. Lawrence authority overhauls. Did the transport minister consult with the local port authorities and municipal leaders before giving Ottawa expanded intervention powers over their operations? If he did not consult, why not?”
