“Madam Speaker, in Taiaiako’n—Parkdale—High Park in west Toronto, we are beneficiaries of having clean, abundant and affordable drinking water provided through the City of Toronto and municipal public services, yet in my riding, there are many people who are concerned about the situation with first nations drinking water. I think they will receive this bill with a lot of jubilation. Could the minister describe how the measures in this bill would equal the playing field so that residents of first nations and on reserves can benefit from the kind of drinking water that most of us in cities take for granted?”
