Replying to Kevin Lamoureux (Liberal)
“Mr. Speaker, I find it unfortunate that it seems that the Conservatives and the Bloc do not support the need for a corporation. It is not like it is absolutely unique. We could take a look at other Five Eyes countries, in particular the U.K. and Australia, where there has been movement toward ensuring that there are better processes for procurements. Yes, the Prime Minister could be accused of hitting the 2% target of our GDP, but I would argue that is a positive thing. To ensure we are able to provide the support for our military personnel in equipment, if not this, then what does the member believe would be better to ensure that we are able to deliver in a more appropriate and faster fashion the military equipment our forces require?”
