“Madam Speaker, Bill C-38 is all about the issue of affordability. I am glad the Conservatives are supporting it. As to the question I have for the member, there are other affordability measures the government has taken over the last year or so. I want to make reference to two of them. One is the school food program, which feeds 400,000 children. The Conservatives are voting against it, and they say that they would get rid of it. I will also make reference to the dental care program, which is serving thousands of seniors in particular who are on fixed income. Many of the people who would be affected by the Conservatives saying no to those two programs are represented by the member in his own riding. Does he believe the Conservative Party should revisit how its members voted on those two public programs, given the importance of affordability?”
