Replying to Elizabeth May (Green). The question was off topic, so this reply is judged against the bill.
“Mr. Speaker, I am making a comment. It may be slightly out of turn, but I was in this place and then went off to take a high school group from my riding on a tour all around and I missed the beginning of the Bill C-34 debate. I just want to say that a whole group of students saw question period and were disillusioned. However, they saw the beginning of this debate. I want to thank the hon. member for Lethbridge and the hon. Minister of Justice, because what the students saw with respect to Bill C-34 restored their faith in Parliament as a place of thoughtful, civil discourse.”
