Replying to Guillaume Deschênes-Thériault (Liberal)
“Mr. Speaker, I want to remind my colleague that, over the last 12 months, our government invested over $1.5 billion to support the cultural sector. These sums helped support many cultural events that have an impact on our identity as Canadians, Quebeckers or Acadians. Here is my question for my colleague: Given the current economic uncertainty, is a $1.5-billion investment not a testament to the importance given by our government to supporting culture and a multitude of programs that have real impacts on the ground?”
