Replying to Carlos Leitão (Liberal)
“Mr. Speaker, indeed, youth unemployment is a major issue not just in Canada but around the world as well. However, we are talking about Canada, where it is a major issue. We find ourselves in a situation that is rather unique in that there are a lot of young people looking for jobs and a lot of businesses and companies looking for workers. There is a mismatch between people looking for jobs and businesses offering jobs. In that context, what would my colleague recommend the government do first in order to make sure that the mismatch disappears and that the people looking for jobs can find one that businesses are looking for workers to fulfill?”
