Replying to Ryan Turnbull (Liberal)
“Mr. Speaker, I have good news for the member opposite: Youth do not have to wait, because Canada’s summer jobs portal just opened 75,000 jobs every summer, with 340 jobs in my riding of Whitby. I am sure the member opposite can acknowledge that this helps create opportunities for our young people. We also have 80,000 to 100,000 new skilled trades positions, with training incentives, wage incentives and completion incentives with about $31,000 per Red Seal apprentice. It is significant support for youth that provides opportunities. We have also cut red tape. We set up a Major Projects Office, and we have Bill C-39 before the House, all of which would remove red tape and get approvals and permitting to speed up, stimulating the economy to make sure we have opportunities for youth. What does the member have to say about that?”
