Today I welcome 60 students from the Upper Grand District School Board who participate in the Beyond Borders leadership development program, an innovative grade 12 experiential learning semester that exemplifies how learning extends beyond books and classroom walls.¹ Through partnerships with businesses, universities, charities and community organizations, students tackle real-world challenges, explore future pathways and, most importantly, discover their own potential. Beyond Borders not only prepares students for what comes next but also teaches them the importance of giving back.
