“Madam Speaker, I listened with great interest to my colleague’s speech; she has so much commitment and expertise on this issue. I am wondering if she could expound on a point she made in her speech around the inability or the unwillingness of companies that have been faced with these issues, the research in front of them and the increasingly concerning effects being caused by their technologies. I wonder if she can describe in fuller detail what it is that is preventing them from acting and why government action is necessary.”
