“Mr. Speaker, whenever my colleague gives a speech in this House, it is very dense and full of facts. With his legal background, I would like to ask him about something that is very important. He mentioned two things: one was implementation and one was definitions. We cannot get into the implementation until we have strict definitions. He said that the defining features of this legislation would be in regulations that are to come from unelected bureaucrats. Could he maybe expand on that and on the dangers of that?”

Mr. Speaker, Positioning · 35 wordsthis is one of the alarming features of the government. It tends to trust unelected bureaucrats, and its members tend to defend those decisions. They tend to forget that they are elected by the people.PositioningReasoning · 58 wordsThey are elected by Canadians to work for Canadians, to listen to Canadians, to express the concerns of Canadians and, in this case, to listen to parents and protect the interests of children.Parliament is right to be able to ask those questions rather than ceding our decision-making authority to unelected regulators that these Liberals love to defend.
