Canada Post delivery of alcohol
C-262 An Act to amend the Canada Post Corporation Act
Allows Canada Post and trusted carriers to ship beer, wine and spirits between provinces directly to consumers.
What Bill C-262 would do
The bill would require Canada Post to deliver beer, wine or spirits directly to consumers across provincial borders. It would grant Canada Post the exclusive right to provide this direct-to-consumer interprovincial delivery within Canada, while creating an exception for trusted carriers. The bill would also authorize regulations for these trusted carriers and set out publication requirements.
