“Could the member spend a minute explaining the difference between investing extra money the government actually saved and borrowing another $25 billion?”
“Mr. Speaker, I really did enjoy the member’s speech. We have had to spend quite a bit of the day trying to debunk some of what we have heard from the other side. Would the member like to take an additional minute or two to walk them through the difference between a sovereign wealth fund, where governments invest wealth that is accumulated from surplus, and simply tacking on another $25 billion to the national credit card?”
