“The member from Oshawa complains about youth jobs, but she voted against government funding that is creating thousands of skilled trades jobs at the Darlington nuclear project.”
“Mr. Speaker, I understand the member opposite’s concern for our youth, and I empathize with our youth. What I cannot understand is this. The member from Oshawa can go visit Ontario Power Generation and see the jobs that are being created in our region with the new nuclear project at Darlington. That is 21,700 jobs and a $2 billion investment through the government’s efforts that she voted against. How can that member stand here and lecture us about youth jobs in our region and in our country yet vote against the very supports that are creating good, skilled trades jobs across our region?”
