“Mr. Speaker, we will continue to take steps to improve affordability. We have already cut the gas tax by 10¢. That has an impact on Canadians. We need to keep implementing a range of measures, not just a single measure. That is important. We have been working on this, and people will soon receive their cheques for the Canada groceries and essentials benefit, if they have not already. That is what helping Canadians is all about. We need to work on multiple fronts, and that is exactly what we are doing, in addition to working to grow our economy and protect the environment.”
