“I agree with my colleague. The government should cut fuel taxes by 25 cents a litre on gas and diesel for the rest of the year. This would give Canadians quick relief and make life more affordable.”

Mr. Speaker, I could not agree more with what my colleague has said. The government needs to get out of the way when it comes to affordability, when it comes to providing good-paying jobs and when it comes to cutting bureaucracy in this country. We need to make sure that all the steps the government takes make Canadians’ lives more affordable, and that is exactly what the proposal is about. The opposition day motion is asking the government to cut fuel taxes by 25¢ per litre on gas and diesel for the rest of the year so Canadians can feel relaxed and there can be immediate relief felt.
