“I want the Minister of Finance to answer my question. Why is he counting public pension plans as assets against the government's debt? Does the government plan to use that pension money to pay back foreign lenders?”

Madam Speaker, I do not know what is going on here. I asked about the pension plans’ being considered as an asset. Maybe the Minister of Finance will get up and do the rebuttal. Why is the Minister of Finance including the Canada pension plan and the Quebec pension plan as an asset against the Government of Canada’s debt? Is he saying it is his government’s policy that those assets will be available to satisfy foreign creditors? That is the question. Maybe the Minister of Finance will get up and answer it for me.
