“Our bill takes money from broadcasting and spends it on Canadian culture and content in Quebec and across Canada. We are proud of this bill, but the opposition wants to cut funding for the arts.”
“Mr. Speaker, I would like to reply to my colleague in French. It is clear, and I said it in response to his first question: The money invested that we collect from radio and television broadcasting will be reinvested in Quebec, reinvested in Canada and reinvested in Canadian content. That is exactly why the law is in place. It is to keep our culture at home. I know that my colleague is not happy about that, because he would like to do away with everything that involves the arts, artists or communications, but if there is one thing I would like to say, it is that we are proud of our bill.”
