“Veterans need real support and services, not more government announcements. This budget adds debt and pushes interest payments over $50 billion a year. How can we trust the government will support veterans when so much money is wasted paying interest?”
“Madam Speaker, one of a federal government’s values is how it treats those who served our country. Veterans do not need more announcements. They need timely services, reliable benefits and access to the supports they have earned. With this budget adding more debt and pushing interest costs above $50 billion a year, could my colleague explain how Canadians can have confidence that veterans will remain a priority when so much of the government’s revenue is being consumed simply by paying interest on past spending?”
