“I trust the Bank of Canada more than the Conservative leader on the economy. Conservatives act happy when they think Canada is in a recession, but we are working to keep the economy strong. I want to know if the Conservative leader has anything positive to say about our country's growth.”
“Mr. Speaker, I have a great deal more confidence in the Bank of Canada than I have in the leader of the Conservative Party. The Bank of Canada has indicated that the Conservative Party might be a little off on this. Conservatives might be glad that Canada, from their point of view, is in a recession, but, in reality, it is one of a number of factors. GDP has to be taken into consideration. Even though they might be gleeful on the other side, we on this side of the House will continue to work to build a stronger, healthier Canada and economy. Does the leader of the Conservative Party have anything positive to say about Canada and how Canada is going to lead in growth in different areas?”
