“Ship recycling is a big worldwide industry and a good opportunity. Canada owns many old, abandoned ships, and we are working on this issue. I know Port Alberni wants to be part of this industry, and I will keep working with the member on it.”
“Mr. Speaker, ship recycling is a multi-billion-dollar, worldwide industry and also an opportunity. Indeed, as the member points out, there are many derelict vessels, including many owned by the people of Canada. We will continue to work very hard on this file. I am very well aware of the interest in the Port Alberni area in engaging in this industry. We are extremely interested in it, and I will be very pleased to continue working with the member on that issue.”
