“Canadian businesses need investment, but business investment has dropped for five quarters in a row. I want my colleague to comment on that.”
“Mr. Speaker, it is clear that all sectors of the Canadian economy need significant investment, including aviation, forestry, aluminum and other sectors. However, investment has declined over the past year. On May 29, Statistics Canada reported the following: “Business capital investment fell 0.7% in the first quarter of 2026, the fifth consecutive quarterly decline.” Could my colleague comment on that?”
