“Mr. Speaker, as far as my region is concerned, it takes a supply chain for production to get where it needs to go. In all my previous occupations, when the supply chain broke down, the entire economy screeched to a halt. Just ask a dairy industry that has no milk, a meat packing plant that has no cull cattle, or aluminum smelters with no bauxite or alumina. There certainly are challenges, in terms of efficiency, for example. We need to invest in a strong Canada. The resources are in place. Canada has lots of railways and great resources. We want to improve efficiency so that we can respond more effectively to the business community.”
