“The government's environmental plans lock land away instead of managing it wisely. Because of these rules, we could not build fire breaks in Jasper National Park, and homes burned down. The government is to blame for that.”

If we look at the definitions of what the 30 by 30 agenda and the 50 by 50 agenda are trying to achieve, we see that it is preservation status. That is a national park level of status. It basically eliminates virtually all forms of use except for maybe visiting and taking pictures. If we were able to do the things on the preserved lands and waters that are coming through the legislative steps and the agenda the government currently has, we would have been able to build fire breaks in Jasper National Park to protect that community. Instead, the preservationist philosophy, which the member is masquerading as conservation, required that the Liberals let it sit, go through the natural process and let those houses burn. That is on him.”
