“The Prime Minister understands the economy. Over the last 18 months, we removed the carbon tax on gas and are now cutting the fuel tax to save people money. These changes must be done carefully. I want the member to share his thoughts on this.”
“Mr. Speaker, the Prime Minister was born in the Northwest Territories and grew up in Edmonton. He understands the importance of building a stronger and healthier economy. We can look at the number of initiatives that have taken place over the last 18 months. When we take a look at those initiatives, the one I would highlight today is getting rid of the carbon tax on gasoline and now reducing the excise tax. These are substantial savings for Canadians at a time when affordability is such an important issue. When we have policies of this nature, they need to be done in a measured way. I wonder if the member could provide his thoughts on that issue and do a comparison—”
