“Farmers in my area are hurting from high diesel fuel prices. I want the member to explain how this policy will affect their growing season.”
“Mr. Speaker, we went from a swampland to the salad bowl of Canada. We have over 125 farmers in the Holland Marsh. They farm 7,000 acres. At Eek Farms, they are commercial third-generation farmers. They are feeling the impact of the diesel prices. Can my hon. colleague please explain to the farmers of my community how this will impact their growing season?”
