“I disagree with the member. Cutting greenhouse gases is based on science, not ideology. Every party in this House needs to listen to scientists and take action on climate change before it is too late.”
“Madam Speaker, the hon. member for York—South Simcoe and I are not going to agree. I will let him know that right away. The issue for me is that the Liberals are following the Conservative platform and playbook on climate. While the hon. member dismisses what the Liberals have done as purely ideological, I want to put on the record that as far as the Green Party is concerned, when one takes action to reduce greenhouse gases to stabilize what is happening and avoid tipping points in the atmosphere, it is based on science and evidence. Every party in this House should be willing to agree to sit around a table, listen to the scientists and take the steps that are necessary before we lose human civilization and the options for our grandchildren.”
