“Fuel costs for farmers have doubled this year. That drives up the price of food at the grocery store.”
“Madam Speaker, I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who lives in Regina—Lewvan and has a farm. We talked about fuel costs. He said that he paid $10 an acre for fuel costs last year, and this year he is paying $20 an acre for fuel costs. His fuel bill on his farm this year is going to be $400,000. I would love for a Liberal to try to explain to me how the price of fuel, when it is being doubled for our farmers across the country, does not affect the price of food at the grocery store.”
