“Mr. Speaker, I understand why my colleague is asking this question, given the importance of the mining sector in her constituency. Whenever I travel abroad and meet with mining industry investors, I consistently hear the same thing: Canada is the best place in the world to operate a mining project, but we are by no means the best place to secure timely permits to develop resources. This will be of real benefit to the mining sector, as it will provide greater predictability regarding the timelines for obtaining permits.”
