“Albertans are frustrated because the government keeps announcing pipelines instead of building them. Other countries want our energy, so we need to actually build several pipelines in every direction to reach them.”

Mr. Speaker, my hon. colleague has put her finger exactly on the problem we face in this country. Coming from Alberta, I know that the frustration Albertans are feeling with the rest of the country is not particularly about Ottawa. It is with the fact that the rest of the country thinks that we already have the pipeline. Canadians have heard so much about this pipeline that they figure it is operational. The fact of the matter is that the pipeline has been announced and announced, but we want to see it built. In fact, we do not want just one pipeline. We want several pipelines going in every direction so that we can get our products to market, because the Germans, the Japanese, the Polish and the Hungarians are all coming here pleading for Canadian energy.
