Pierre Poilievre Conservative
“The government's housing adviser promised fast building, but housing is only getting worse. Rent has almost doubled, from $970 to $1,800, and more Canadians than ever have given up on buying a home. When will the Prime Minister stop the big talk and actually help people own homes?”
“Mr. Speaker, the guy who said he was going to build at unimaginable speeds says he just got here, after 18 months. It is not that he has failed to make things better after the 10 years of Liberal government that he helped advise on. It is that things are getting so much worse. Rent is up 86%, almost double, from $970 to $1,800 today. The Prime Minister is now leading an economy where the largest number of Canadians have given up on home ownership. When will we have an end to the big talk and actually get some home ownership results?”
