“We extended our child care deal with Ontario for four more years. This keeps daily fees around $19 and helps open new spots. I want Ontario to keep working with us to support this program.”
“Mr. Speaker, in fact, just last week, the Minister of Jobs and Families, along with her counterpart in Ontario, announced a four-year extension of the early learning and child care program in Ontario. That is going to create stability in terms of the fees for families in the coming months, ensuring that the average cost of daily child care is about $19. It is also going to help us work towards the creation of additional spaces in Ontario, because we know there are so many families still looking to make sure they have access to a spot. The demand is there, the need is there and we are there to support this program. We are urging the province to be as active and supportive as it can be as well.”
