“The government says it is spending money to make life affordable, but families still cannot afford groceries. Between two and three million people now use food banks every month. I want the member to explain why so many people need food banks if the government is doing such a great job.”

Mr. Speaker, the government proudly announces hundred of millions of dollars for affordability, while the family at the kitchen table keeps cutting groceries. Can the member opposite explain why over two million people line up at food banks every month, and if we include churches, synagogues and temples, that number climbs to three million people? Why are all these people going to food banks if the government’s efforts are so great?
