“Ending homelessness is very important, but this motion does nothing to fix it. We should be debating real solutions for affordable housing instead. I am happy to talk with the member about homelessness.”
“Mr. Speaker, on whether the projects list would include ending homelessness, I am not quite sure that is what the project list works for. However, ending homelessness is a very important issue. Making sure that people have a roof over their head is incredibly important. Whatever government programs deal with that and continue to deal with that certainly are priorities for all of us in this House. I have a lot of respect for my colleague, and I am sure he would have preferred that, in the motion before us, there was a solution to the homelessness crisis. A motion could have proposed to debate how we could make housing more affordable versus the nothing motion that was put forward today. I am happy to talk to the member about the homelessness issue.”
