“Madam Speaker, 500 Canadian steelworkers at Stelco are being thrown out of work by a U.S. corporation and its Trump-supporting CEO. Cleveland-Cliffs violated the commitments it made as a condition of this foreign takeover. This is a MAGA-driven attempt to deindustrialize Canada by stripping away our manufacturing capacity and jobs. Steel is a strategic industry. It underpins our economy, our sovereignty and our national security. The future of Canadian steel must be decided in Canada. Will the Liberal government stand up for Canadian workers and secure this vital—”
