“I want us to vote on this bill soon. It keeps the fuel tax paused until 2027 and then slowly brings it back by April. We can only control what happens until then, not what happens after.”
“Mr. Speaker, we will be voting soon, I hope, on Bill C‑38, which provides that, starting in January 2027, the suspension of the tax will gradually decrease, and then in April, we will return to where we were before. What will happen in April? I am no psychic. I cannot predict what will happen, but whatever we can control, we control. This is how it will be until April 1. After that, it will be in God’s hands.”
