“Liberals used to say high gas prices and the carbon tax did not cause inflation, while Conservatives said the carbon tax had to go. Now Liberals admit high gas prices cause inflation, and they got rid of the carbon tax. I want to know if the Liberals will admit Conservatives were right all along.”
“Madam Speaker, it was not long ago that we were hearing Liberals say that high gas prices were not going to affect inflation. As a matter of fact, they were saying, in the last Parliament, that Canadians were better off with the carbon tax than without it while we were arguing against it, saying that the carbon tax had to be removed. Now we are seeing a complete about-face with the same Liberals saying the opposite, which is that gas prices are inflationary and that they have to be brought down, and the carbon tax is gone. I want to know this: Are the Liberals acknowledging, finally, that the Conservatives had it right all along?”
