“Our government helps lower-income Canadians with things like the dental care program and pausing the fuel tax. The Conservatives want big tax cuts instead. I want the member to tell us if their plan puts our social programs at risk, and which ones they would cut.”

Madam Speaker, our colleague mentioned in his speech that there are measures to address the affordability issues, namely Bill C-38, which would suspend the fuel excise tax. He also pointed out that there are other social programs that have been put in place over the past few years to mostly assist Canadians on the lower side of the income scale to be able to meet the demands of everyday life, such as the dental program and so on. I would like my colleague to comment on the fact that, in the so-called affordability program of the opposition, there would be massive tax cuts, which would inevitably have these programs funded some other way. In his opinion, does he think that the social programs we now have in place would be at risk, and if so, which ones would the Conservatives eliminate?
