“This gas tax cut is only temporary. It cuts about ten cents a litre for a few months, and then five cents. I want my colleague to explain if this gives Canadians any real, long-term help with high costs.”

Madam Speaker, my colleague’s speech on the fuel excise tax temporary relief was very informative. That is the basis of my question: The relief would be just temporary. He should explain to Canadians once again that it would be temporary relief of roughly 10¢ a litre for a few more months, and then it would go down to five cents a litre. Do Canadians take any comfort from this that there is going to be long-term relief to the affordability crisis that is facing us today?
