“Madam Speaker, businesses need to plan their deliveries and equipment purchases and hire well in advance. Repeated short-term extensions make those decisions harder when owners are already facing uncertain costs. Conservatives are calling for the excise tax and GST relief to be in place until at least Canada Day 2027, along with the permanent removal of the clean fuel regulations and the industrial carbon tax. That would provide a longer period of relief while removing other costs permanently.”
