“I agree that Canada needs to sell oil and gas to new global markets instead of selling it cheap to the United States. We expanded the Trans Mountain pipeline and are increasing our gas exports to help do that. I want the member to share his thoughts on these projects.”

Madam Speaker, I appreciate the member opposite’s knowledge of the Canadian oil industry. I think he made a couple of fairly poignant good points. Right now, we are seeing record high production of oil and gas in Alberta. I think his main point about diversifying the market and not selling to the United States at a discount and working to sell to the global markets is right on. There is the Trans Mountain pipeline and the expansion that is planned to increase capacity there. Hopefully he will acknowledge that it is in the right direction. There is also the major expansion of liquefied natural gas exports that are going to the west coast to then further diversify that Canadian energy market. I would like his comment on that, please.
