“This debate is simply about making gas cheaper for Canadians. Two weeks ago, the member voted against pausing fuel taxes until July 2027 and ending diesel taxes. Conservatives voted for those cuts, but the government side did not.”
“Mr. Speaker, the answer, the debate, is simple. It is about bringing relief to Canadians at the gas pumps. That is what we are here debating. That is what my hon. colleague had an option of voting for two weeks ago when he decided to vote against the full relief up to Canada Day 2027 and to make sure we could eliminate full diesel taxes for all Canadians and further bring relief for Canadians. This is what we were talking about today. These are the measures our side voted for and strongly believes in. We do not see the same representation on the other side of the House. We do not want to make this about party politics, but that is unfortunately what we have here today.”
