“Members of Parliament from Quebec care about Quebec, but working within Canada forces them into compromises that hurt our culture and autonomy. That is why I want my colleague to support Quebec independence.”
“Mr. Speaker, this warrants harsh judgment. My colleague is absolutely right. I will, however, take this opportunity to say that I have no doubt that every MP from Quebec has a strong sense of belonging. The difficulty is that they are forced to make compromises within the Canadian framework. Too often, those compromises are made at the expense of Quebec culture and autonomy. That is why there is a fantastic project, one I invite him to take part in, and that is Quebec independence.”
