“The 600 million dollars is new funding on top of 500 million dollars we already spend on culture, including over 100 million dollars for Radio-Canada. It is a temporary fix until we have a permanent plan. I will share more details later.”

Mr. Speaker, when the member makes reference to the $600 million, that is a new commitment over and above another half a billion dollars that is out there to support our culture. That would include in excess of well over $100 million for Radio-Canada, for example. I will provide more details on that when I get the opportunity to address the House. I think it is important that we recognize that the $600 million is an interim solution until we are able to come up with a more permanent solution. I plan to expand on that when I get the opportunity to speak.
