“I want a clear yes-or-no answer. The government dropped the digital services tax to help trade talks with the United States. It has been 15 months. Did dropping that tax actually help the talks?”
Official Hansard

Mr. Speaker, this is the third time I have put a question to a government MP. I hope that, this time, I will receive a clear answer. Here are the facts. In June 2025, the government announced its intention to withdraw the digital services tax. The objective was clear: facilitate negotiations with the United States. Fifteen months later, can the member tell us what tangible results have come from the decision to withdraw the digital services tax? Has it had a positive effect on the negotiations, yes or no?
